The Merrium-Webster dictionary supplies two definitions of the term 'melodrama', the first as, "drama in which many exciting events happen and the characters have very strong or exaggerated emotions" and the second as, "a situation or series of events in which people have very strong or exaggerated emotions". Both definitions apply to what we have learned so far in class dealing with the emotions and suspense a melodramatic movie entails.
